You’re not imagining this

Does This Sound Like You?

Periods That Run Your Life.

Heavy. Painful. Debilitating. Or wildly irregular. You’ve been told to take birth control or push through.

Often estrogen, progesterone, thyroid, or prolactin patterns. A Naturopathic Doctor maps the hormonal picture, then plans around it.

01 / 06

PMS or PMDD That Feels Chemical.

A week or two before your period, you’re not yourself. Mood drops, sleep wrecks, food cravings.

Often cortisol rhythm, blood sugar, or neurotransmitter precursor nutrients. A Naturopathic Doctor maps where the levers are.

02 / 06

Cycle Changes You Can’t Explain.

Periods drifting. Sleep cracks. Energy dips. Weight shifts. Welcome to perimenopause, a decade before anyone names it.

Often FSH, estradiol, progesterone, and thyroid shifting through perimenopause. A Naturopathic Doctor maps and supports the transition.

03 / 06

Hot Flashes, Night Sweats, Brain Fog.

Waking up drenched. Losing words mid-sentence. Joint aches from nowhere.

Often the menopause transition affecting cortisol, blood sugar, and trigger patterns. A Naturopathic Doctor adds nutritional, herbal, and lifestyle support alongside any HRT.

04 / 06

Your Thyroid Was ‘Fine.’

TSH in range. Thyroid ‘normal.’ But you feel cold, foggy, and stuck.

Often Free T3, reverse T3, or thyroid antibodies tell a different story than TSH. A Naturopathic Doctor orders the broader panel.

05 / 06

Multiple Symptoms, No Connection.

Fatigue. Cycle issues. Mood. Skin. Sleep. You’ve been chasing them one at a time.

Often hormonal patterns connect across systems. A Naturopathic Doctor maps the cross-system picture.

01
Step 01

Your First Appointment

A full 60-minute session built around listening. Your Naturopathic Doctor takes the time to understand your history, cycle, symptoms, and everything you’ve already tried. This visit is about mapping where you are before any plan is built.

60 min

02
Step 02

Lab Work

Your Naturopathic Doctor identifies the markers most relevant to your case (full thyroid, sex hormones, cortisol patterns, metabolic markers) and provides a recommendation letter outlining what to test and why. The letter is yours to use as part of your bloodwork.

Step 03

Building Your Personalized Care Plan

A focused 30-minute follow-up to review your progress and walk through lab results. Your Naturopathic Doctor explains the patterns across thyroid, adrenal, and sex hormones, then adjusts the plan based on what is and is not shifting.

The continuum

Hormonal Care for Every Stage.

Hormones don’t stay still. The investigation, the labs, and the support shift as you do. Whether you’re in your reproductive years, perimenopause, menopause, or beyond, your Naturopathic Doctor builds care around the stage you’re actually in.

15–35

Reproductive Years

Cycle, fertility, and the hormonal patterns that shape day-to-day energy, mood, and skin. Standard bloodwork rarely covers what a Naturopathic Doctor would call a complete picture.

What we investigate

  • Cycle length, ovulation, and PMS/PMDD patterns
  • Estrogen, progesterone, prolactin, thyroid
  • Iron and ferritin (often missed in young women)
  • PCOS and androgen markers
  • Fertility preparation and preconception support

Common questions

  • Why is my cycle so disordered?
  • Could this be PCOS?
  • Why is my mood so much worse before my period?
35–50

Perimenopause

The decade before menopause where periods drift, sleep cracks, mood shifts, and weight changes. Most women aren’t told this is what’s happening.

What we investigate

  • FSH, LH, estradiol, progesterone trends
  • Thyroid drift and antibody patterns
  • Sleep architecture and cortisol rhythm
  • Insulin sensitivity and metabolic shifts
  • Mood, focus, and brain fog patterns

Common questions

  • Am I in perimenopause?
  • Why am I gaining weight without changing anything?
  • Why won’t I sleep through the night anymore?
45–60

Menopause

Twelve consecutive months without a period. Hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal and urinary changes, sleep disruption. Naturopathic care complements any HRT your physician prescribes.

What we investigate

  • Vasomotor symptoms (hot flashes, night sweats)
  • Sleep, mood, and cognitive patterns
  • Vaginal and urinary health
  • Bone density risk and cardiovascular markers
  • HRT-adjacent nutritional and herbal support

Common questions

  • Naturopathic options for menopause symptoms?
  • Can I work with a Naturopathic Doctor alongside my HRT?
  • What’s safe for hot flashes if I can’t take HRT?
55+

Postmenopause

Long-term hormone health: bone density, cardiovascular health, cognitive vitality, skin and hair changes. Care that doesn’t stop when periods do.

What we investigate

  • Bone density risk factors and nutritional support
  • Cardiovascular markers (lipids, hs-CRP, homocysteine)
  • Cognitive vitality and brain health
  • Skin, hair, and connective tissue changes
  • Ongoing thyroid, metabolic, and adrenal review

Common questions

  • How do I support my bones without medication?
  • What can I do about cardiovascular risk after menopause?
  • Is my brain fog age or something else?

Beyond the cycle

HRT-Adjacent Support, Bone Density, and Heart Health.

Hormonal care doesn’t stop at periods. Through perimenopause, menopause, and the years after, your Naturopathic Doctor focuses on the long-term pieces standard care can miss.

Working alongside HRT

Naturopathic Doctors in Ontario don’t prescribe HRT. We coordinate with your prescribing physician and support the lifestyle, nutrition, sleep, and adjacent symptom pieces HRT alone doesn’t address.

Bone density support

Postmenopausal bone loss is investigable, not inevitable. Calcium, magnesium, vitamin D, vitamin K2, weight-bearing lifestyle factors, and protein intake all influence long-term bone health.

Cardiovascular health

Estrogen’s decline shifts cardiovascular risk markers. Advanced lipid panels, hs-CRP, homocysteine, fasting insulin, and evidence-informed nutritional strategies become especially relevant in midlife and beyond.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions.

Yes. ‘Normal’ on a basic panel often means within reference ranges that span very wide. A full hormonal investigation looks at patterns, ratios, and rhythm, not just isolated values. Free T3, free testosterone, DHEA-S, fasting insulin, and cortisol curves often reveal what TSH and a basic CBC don’t.
