Normal isn't the same as explained.
A ten-minute visit, a standard panel, and a prescription for the symptom. It can quiet things down. It doesn't tell you why it started, so it tends to come back.

The questions people search first.
Straight answers, in plain language.
What is a Naturopathic Doctor?
A regulated primary care provider trained in a four-year, post-graduate naturopathic medicine program, licensed in Ontario by the College of Naturopaths of Ontario. Naturopathic Doctors assess, order tests, and build plans built on nutrition, lifestyle, natural health products and, where appropriate, coordination with your physician.
Are Naturopathic Doctors regulated in Ontario?
Yes. Naturopathic Doctors are regulated under the Naturopathy Act and registered with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario, which sets standards of practice and handles complaints. Every Naturopathic Doctor at Fitra Health is registered, and their registration numbers are on this site.
Do you replace my family doctor?
No. Naturopathic care works alongside your physician or specialist. We ask for the results you already have, share what we find when it's useful, and tell you plainly when something needs a physician first.
How do virtual appointments work?
You book a time, get a secure video link by email, and meet your Naturopathic Doctor from home. Phone works too. Lab requisitions, plans and receipts arrive by email. Anyone living in Ontario can be seen.
What happens in the first appointment?
A full hour on you: your goals, your history, what you've tried, what you're doing now, and your diet, supplements and medications. You leave with a map of what's likely driving your symptoms, the targeted testing that would confirm it, and a starter plan.
Can a Naturopathic Doctor order lab tests?
Yes. Naturopathic Doctors in Ontario can requisition many blood and stool tests through licensed laboratories, and specialty tests through accredited labs. You pay the lab fee at the lab's price, quoted before anything is ordered.
How much does it cost?
The first call is free, the first 60-minute appointment is $249, and follow-ups are $99 for 30 minutes or $199 for 60. Lab work is passed through at cost. No packages, no membership.
Are naturopaths covered by insurance in Ontario?
Yes, in most cases. Most workplace and private extended health plans cover Naturopathic Doctor visits up to an annual maximum, including plans from Manulife, Canada Life, Sun Life, Desjardins, Blue Cross and Green Shield. We bill your insurer directly through TELUS eClaims where they are on the network, and issue an insurance-ready receipt where they are not. Check your benefits booklet for a line called naturopath or naturopathic services, and the annual maximum against it.
Does OHIP cover naturopathic care?
No. OHIP does not cover naturopathic visits in Ontario. Extended health benefits usually do. Naturopathic visits are also HST-exempt and may qualify for the federal medical expense tax credit, and some lab work can be ordered through your family doctor under OHIP instead.
Do I need a referral?
No. You book directly. Bring any results you already have and your Naturopathic Doctor starts from there rather than repeating work.
How soon can I be seen?
Free calls are usually available within a day or two, and first appointments within days. There's no waitlist.
What conditions do you help with?
Digestion, hormones, fatigue and energy, and a fourth group that covers autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, skin, mood and sleep, weight and metabolic health, chronic pain, and the cases that don't fit one label. Children's and men's health too.
Where in Ontario do you see patients?
Anywhere in the province. Care is virtual, so Toronto, Ottawa, Mississauga, Hamilton, London, Kitchener and every town in between are the same distance from us.
